Shirley M. Lutz Madenford, 77, of Hummelstown, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, PA.
She was the wife of 1st Lt. Eugene C. Madenford, USMC retired, to whom she was married 50 years on November 2nd.
Born in State Hill, PA, on March 6, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Frank J. and Mary Ernst Lutz.
She had been employed 11 years as an office clerk at the American Casualty Insurance Company, Reading, PA. She was a member of Bern Evangelical Lutheran Church, Leesport, and was a member of the Eastern Star Conrad Weiser Chapter, #449, and also the Sinking Spring and Mt. Pleasant Fire Companies Relief Associations.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Ann K., wife of Timothy Wildman of Mechanicsburg, PA and Beverly M., wife of Lawrence Nawa of Elizabethtown, PA; 3 grandchildren; a sister, Ruth, widow of Bill Madden of Sinking Spring, PA; a brother, Russel, husband of Florence Lutz of Womelsdorf, PA; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, June Lutz and Betty Quell.
Services are private at the convenience of the family.
