- Fall From Wagon Fatal to Farmer
Samuel Schrack Dies Of Fractured Skull
Samuel S. Schrack, 58, Penn Township farmer, residing near Garfield, died of a fractured skull which he suffered when he fell from a hay wagon while unloading baled straw.
Schrack was assisting a neighbor when he lost his balance and fell head-first from the wagon. Dr. James W. Shoenfelt, of West Leesport, was summoned. Schrack died four hours after the accident. Calvin T. Sheidy, deputy coroner, issued a certificate of accidental death caused by a fractured skull.
He was a son of the late Samuel K. and Isabella (Schock) Schrack, and was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Belleman's Church and the Mt. Pleasant Fire Company. Surviving are his widow, Clara (Luckenbill), these children: Ralph W., of Leesport R.D.; Minnie, wife of Ira Himmelberger, at home; Sallie, wife of Aaron Smith, at home; three grandchildren; these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Katie Barr, Mrs. Annie Barr, both of West Leesport R.D.; Sallie, wife of Charles Kauffman, of Mohrsville; Mary Schrack, Mrs. Maggie Blank, Elizabeth Schrack of West Leesport; Carrie, wife of Raymond Fels, of Pottsville; James Schrack, of West Leesport.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the house. Further services in Belleman's Chruch, the Rev. L. R. Miller and the Rev. Dr. J. K. Stoudt officiating. Interment in adjoining cemetery. The Kirkhoff Funeral Home, Bernville, has charge.
