- Mary Ann Miller, 96, of Wernersville passed away Monday, June 9th, 2014 at Berks Heim.
Born in Lower Heidelberg on February 26, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Adam H. Schaeffer Sr. and the late Louisiana (Gerhart) Schaeffer.
She was a 1936 graduate of Wernersville High School and graduated with honors in 1966 from the Nursing School in Reading.
She was an L.P.N. at Community General Hospital in Reading, for 15 years retiring in 1982.
She was a life long member of St. John's (Hain's) U.C.C. Wernersville, where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Women's Fellowship.
She was a Past Matron of the Conrad Weiser Chapter # 449 O.E.S., a Charter member of the Heidelberg Heritage Society, a Charter member of the Wernersville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and a former Assistant Girl Scout Leader in Wernersville. She enjoyed knitting, reading, traveling, and crossword puzzles. On her 95th birthday she took a Hot Air Balloon ride.
She is survived by 8 nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by two sisters, Susan Boyer and Grace Boyer; and two brothers, Clayton Schaeffer and Adam Schaeffer Jr.
Services will be held Saturday, June 14th at 10:30am in St. John's (Hain's) U.C.C., Wernersville, with Rev. Dr. Jon A. Fogle officiating.
Friends are invited to call Saturday 9:30 to 10:30am with Order of Eastern Star Service at 10:15am in the Church Chapel.
