  Appendicitis Fatal to Tennessee Gingrich, Teacher at Windsor Tennessee Gingrich, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Gingrich of the South Main street road in Virgil, died at the Binghamton Private hospital, Saturday night, Oct. 4, a few hours after an operation for ruptured appendix. The funeral was held at the Beard Memorial home, Tuesday afternoon, and burial was in Virgil cemetery. Mr. Gingrich was a graduate of the Cortland high school and the Cortland Normal school, one of the youngest and most brilliant students completing the courses in the two schools. He taught at Afton after graduation in 1927 and then went to Windsor high school as teacher of the seventh and eighth grades. Members of the Windsor high school faculty attended the funeral. He leaves besides his parents, six sisters, Mrs. Palmer Sherman, Mrs. Cecil Weatherby, Miss Beatrice and Miss Ruby Gingrich of Virgil and Mrs. Arthur Doty of Blodgett Mills and Mrs. Clinton Congdon of Cortland; and three brothers, Vernon, Ira and Ernest Gingrich of Virgil. -The Cortland Democrat, Cortland, N.Y., 10 Oct 1930
